The novel covers the separate lives of the twins over twenty-five years. Instead, she decides to leave town and embrace the child as her own. The nurse takes the child but is unable to leave her at the dismal institution. Henry, having lost his sister at a young age due to a similar condition, hands the girl to his nurse, and tells her to take the infant to an institution. The boy is healthy, but the girl has Down’s Syndrome. David Henry, must deliver his wife’s twins, a boy and girl, at his own clinic. Unable to reach the hospital, her husband, Dr. In Kentucky, 1964, Norah Henry goes into labor during a blizzard. Overall the book was a wonderful read.It was something I wanted to read after reading something tragic and beautiful like The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.I'm looking forward to read mor of Kim Edwards' works! I bought this book back in December.I never got a chance to read it until now.I was busy with my exams and finally I took it out of the shelf this tuesday.After I started reading this book,I got so engrossed in it that I couldn't keep it down for even a moment.I wanted to know what would happen to the characters.ġ.The time and place it's set in.Beginning in the 1960s the book was very interesting.Ģ.How it skipped back and forth from the character's lives.It went from David's to Norah's to Caroline's to Paul's life,which were all very realistic.ģ.It's life-like characters.I can imagine Dr.David Henry,Norah Henry,Paul Henry,Pheobe and Caroline so easily.While I read the book,I could imagine them talking and arguing or doing whatever they were doing.Ĥ.The way of writing,which is pretty much what I said in point 2.ĥ.The happy ending!,which is the most important thing of all.I just love them. This book has touched my heart!The feels!
